The MKL-5000 has stunning, impressive looks and polished sound full of character creating a recording experience that will be remembered. The microphone features a Class A tube circuit amplifier using a Russian military 6Ж1П pentode tube. The capsule is 34mm, with two 5-micron, 27mm diaphragms. A switch on the microphone body gives access to three polar patterns: Cardioid, Omni and Figure-8, making the MKL-5000 more versatile.
The kit includes: MKL-5000, heavy-duty spider shock mount AM65/25, BP-103 PSU, XLR-6 cable and power cable all in a padded wooden case.
The BP-103 is a high quality power supply unit, which is specially made for MKL-4000 and MKL-5000. It features a magnetically shielded toroidal transformer and a network filter to eliminate interference. It can operate at 110 V or 220V – the voltage switch is located at the bottom of the unit.
The microphone has a huge, rich and full of character sound, especially useful for pop and rock vocals. The bottom end is full and the presence region is detailed.
